How the $20 service fee works
The flat $20 fee covers the pre-vaccination screening, administration, 15-minute observation period and AIR submission — performed by an AHPRA-registered pharmacist immuniser. It is charged once per appointment, regardless of how many doses are administered in that visit. The fee does not apply to NIP-funded vaccinations for eligible patients (including the free Victorian MMR catch-up) or to influenza vaccinations — both the standard injection and the nasal spray are service-fee free, even when paid privately.
