For everyone

Accessibility statement

How we aim to make our website and clinic usable by people of all abilities, what we test, what we know we still need to fix, and how to tell us when we miss something.

Our commitment

Vaccination must be accessible to everyone in our community. We aim for our website and our clinic to be usable by people of all abilities, including those who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, voice control, or who experience cognitive, sensory or motor differences.

Conformance target

We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We test using a combination of automated tools (Lighthouse, axe-core), keyboard-only navigation, and assistive technologies. Conformance is an ongoing process, we regularly review and fix issues as they are found or reported.

Website features

  • Semantic HTML with proper landmarks (header, nav, main, footer).
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
  • Keyboard navigation for all menus, dropdowns, and forms.
  • Text scales up to 200% without loss of content or function.
  • Sufficient colour contrast on body text (≥4.5:1) and large text (≥3:1).
  • Reduced-motion mode automatically respected via prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Form fields have visible labels, hints, and accessible error messages.
  • Images have appropriate alt text; decorative images are marked as such.
  • The site is responsive and works on mobile, tablet and desktop down to 320px width.

In-clinic accessibility

  • Step-free access to the pharmacy from the Sunshine Marketplace concourse.
  • Accessible parking nearby and accessible toilets within the Marketplace.
  • Private consultation space for people who prefer not to be vaccinated in the open dispensary area.
  • Translation support via the free Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National), call 131 450 from inside Australia.
  • Easy-read consent forms available on request.
  • Quiet or sensory-friendly appointments by request (call ahead).
  • Companions and carers welcome.

Known limitations

  • Some third-party content (e.g. embedded Google Maps) may not meet AA contrast in all states.
  • PDF documents may not always be fully accessible. We will provide an alternative format on request.
  • Older blog images may lack detailed alt text; we are working through these.
