Methodology and assumptions

The calculator uses these mid-range, evidence-based assumptions: a baseline annual symptomatic influenza attack rate of 15% in unvaccinated adults (Cochrane, CDC); vaccine effectiveness of 50% against symptomatic infection (CDC seasonal estimates, AusVaxSafety); and an average of 4 sick days per adult flu case (workplace cohort studies).

Program cost is estimated at $35 per dose plus a $200 call-out fee — your actual quote depends on headcount, location and vaccine mix.

These are estimates only. Real-world outcomes vary year to year with circulating strains, season severity and workforce demographics. The output should be used as a directional planning input, not a guaranteed return.
